The world cannot see what happens inside orphanages
Across the world, millions of children grow up without parents. Many orphanages are run by good people doing their best. But the systems around them are fragile.
- Daily safety and care are difficult to verify.
- Oversight is often periodic, not continuous.
- Donors and partners must rely on trust alone.
When transparency is weak, children become vulnerable and good institutions are indistinguishable from bad ones.
"Children deserve more than promises.
They deserve protection that is built into the system itself."
A Global Verification Layer for Child Safety and Wellbeing
ChildGuard is building an open, privacy-respecting technology system that provides continuous, real-world visibility into how children are treated inside orphanages.
Today, oversight happens occasionally.
ChildGuard is designed to make protection continuous.
Our platform combines three core components:
Environmental awareness
Smart sensors and computer vision systems identify signs of unsafe situations, severe neglect, or breakdowns in daily care routines.
Wellbeing pattern analysis
The system looks for positive indicators such as regular play, social interaction, learning activity, and emotional stability, helping institutions understand whether children are truly thriving, not just present.
Transparent reporting infrastructure
Verified safety and wellbeing metrics are made available to partners and oversight bodies through secure dashboards, creating accountability without exposing children’s identities.
The goal is not to watch children.
The goal is to ensure that every institution meets a visible, measurable standard of care every day, not just when inspectors arrive.
ChildGuard is building the world’s first open, auditable child protection infrastructure.
For the first time, this is possible
Three forces now make this achievable:
- •Computer vision and behavioral analysis have matured.
- •Privacy-preserving AI techniques can protect identity while ensuring safety.
- •Open-source governance models can scale trusted global infrastructure.
A small, focused founding team can now create a system that protects children for generations.
"The earlier this exists, the more lives it shapes."

Why ChildGuard Is Being Built
ChildGuard was founded by Thanos Zikantas, a Canadian entrepreneur who has spent decades building national-scale service systems.
Thanos is the founder of Lean On Me Fence Post Repair, a company that operates across Canada and pioneered a patented repair technology that extends the life of existing fences.
Rather than replacing entire fences, Lean On Me focuses on repairing and reinforcing existing structures, saving homeowners significant cost while reducing waste and unnecessary rebuilding.
"This systems-based approach reflects the same philosophy behind ChildGuard: Fix the structure, not just the symptom."
ChildGuard applies that same thinking to child protection.
Instead of reacting after harm occurs, the goal is to build protective infrastructure that makes safety and wellbeing part of the system itself.
ChildGuard is not a charity project.
It is being designed as a long-term global institution.
Phase 1 is the founding team
ChildGuard is in its founding phase.
We are assembling the six leaders who will design the ethics, technology, governance, and real-world deployment of a global child protection system.
This is a build phase.
If you have the experience to carry real responsibility, this is where the mission begins.
Founding work is volunteer to start. The structure, funding, and long-term organization will be built by this founding team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a paid position?
Not initially. ChildGuard is in its founding phase. This stage is about assembling the core leadership team and building the foundation of a global child protection system. This is volunteer founding work to start. As the organization matures, formal structure, funding, and governance will be developed by the founding team together. We are not offering jobs. We are offering a chance to help build something that will outlive all of us.

How much time is expected?
This is not a rigid commitment. ChildGuard will move at the pace the founding team is willing and able to move together. We are not asking for fixed schedules. We are looking for people who can meaningfully contribute over time and who care about building something important properly. Quality of contribution matters more than quantity of hours.

What is the timeline?
There is no artificial deadline. ChildGuard is being built as a long-term institution, not a short-term project. The founding team will define the roadmap together, including: Research phase, Technical prototyping, Ethical framework development, Pilot planning. We are focused on building this correctly, not quickly.

Is this legally a nonprofit yet?
ChildGuard is currently in its formation phase. The legal structure will be formalized once the founding team is assembled and aligned on governance, jurisdiction, and long-term institutional design. This allows the right structure to emerge from the team, rather than forcing a premature model.

Are you collecting donations?
No. ChildGuard is not fundraising at this stage. Phase 1 is entirely focused on building the founding team and designing the system properly. Financial structures will be addressed later, once the foundation is strong.

Is this about surveillance?
No. ChildGuard is not about watching children. It is about protecting them. Our purpose is to build systems that help prevent harm, reduce neglect, and increase healthy routines such as play, learning, and care. Privacy, dignity, and child rights are foundational principles, not features.

Why open source?
Because child protection infrastructure must be trusted by the world. Open systems allow independent review of: Safety models, Ethical safeguards, Privacy boundaries. Transparency is the only path to global legitimacy.

Who is this for?
This is for experienced builders. People who have already developed real expertise in their field and want to apply it to something that truly matters. We are not looking for helpers. We are forming the founding leadership team of a future global institution.

What happens after I apply?
Every application is reviewed personally. If your background aligns with the mission and role, you will be invited to an initial video conversation. From there, we will share the Phase 1 roadmap and discuss whether there is mutual fit.

Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes. If your experience spans multiple domains, you may indicate more than one role in your application. Final responsibilities will be shaped collaboratively within the founding team.

Where is ChildGuard based?
ChildGuard is being built as a global organization from day one. The founding team may be distributed across countries and time zones. The mission is international in scope.
